Sweat Lodge:

Ceremony with the Lakota Path

The medicine of the lodge is the initiation to a clear life prayer.

Right at the start of the COVID, a dear friend had just arrived to my home in the Sacred Valley of the Incas for a short visit. Little did we know, that visit would be prolonged by a strict lockdown. We made the best of it by sneaking off to the river to harvest some willow for a lodge. With a magnificent view of Inti Huatana, the potent plants of the garden, and a newly planted lodge, we entered into a period of pause and deep medicine that I hold as one of the most sacred times of my life.

Struck by the clarity of prayer brought forth by the lodge, I opened myself to the medicine of the grandmothers and grandfathers of the Red Road. Since, I have tended that connection through vision quest and Sun Dance with Chief Don Valerio Cahaila (Freddy) of the Khallawaya region of the high Andes, Peru. He received the Chief’s Bundle from Lakota spiritual elder Leonard Crow dog in 2011. The altars of the North and South Americas have come together in the time of the condor and eagle, a period of awakening for the children of the earth. I consider it a great honor to pour lodge that is born of the ancestral wisdom of the North and South flying together.

Each month, we host an intimate sweat lodge at our home.

If you are in Birmingham, Alabama, or in driving distance, and you’d like to join us, you can find the links to register for the next three lodges below. We generally gather from 3-6pm on Sundays near the new moon (Next Dates: October 25, November 22, December 27).

If you don’t know me, or my wife Jane, please reach out to me first, to make sure that this is an appropriate medicine for you.
