Pakarina Wisdom is a shared collaboration for the preservation of indigenous memory.

In Quechua, there is a beautiful term, “chakaruna” which means human bridge, and it is an important aspect of my life’s work to act as a chakaruna between the cultures who have safeguarded ancestral memory and the ones who have long been separated from these practices through generations of disconnect from their original lands and ancestral medicine.

The sacred medicines of the Americas have awoken in me a sobering remembrance of what’s been lost and what’s at stake. The tools I carry are a pipe, a medicine bundle, and a spiritual compass. With these gifts, I am humbled again-and-again as I endeavor to forge the hard-earned qualities it takes to be of service on the path of awakening.

As part of my life’s sacred labor, “yancay,” I have collaborated with elders of Q’eros nation in the high mountains of Peru to build a school where students learn directly from indigenous wisdom keepers through healers rites and clear instruction.

Pakarina Wisdom is a school of ancestral healing arts that incorporates the symbolism of the Andean cross, “chakana”, to provide a template for personal work, subtle body practice, awakening to spirit, and harmonious living through community collaboration for a beautiful life.

This school has become a pathway of remembrance for many since its birth in 2020, and includes online courses and live retreats with elders.

A pakarina is said to be the place from which the original peoples emerged, and it takes it roots from the the word paq’ari, “to dawn.”

The teachings of Q’eros nation provide a solid foundation and clear trajectory for the ancestral healing arts that continues its arch in yearly cohorts taking place for six months of each year.

Committed students become misha carriers, “sacred bundles” of the Q’ero lineage who maintain lasting relationships with the elders of Q’eros nation.
We offer in-person retreats each year to create the opportunity for meaningful connection with the lineage holders and their sacred mountains.
